Beypore Beach is located at the mouth of the Chaliyar River. It was earlier famous for the Ship Building industry. Beypore was one of the most important port and fishing harbor of Kerala during ancient times. The place was an important trade and maritime center for merchants from Western Asia. Uru, the traditional Arabian trading vessel, was constructed at the boat-building yard of Beypore. Beypore also has a magnificent bridge built entirely of stone.

Marari Beach got its name from the local fishing village Mararikulam. It has long pristine sandy beaches where the swaying palms and majestic coconut groves add to the beauty of the beach. It is an ideal beach to be in peace and tranquility unlike the hush and rush of the city life. You will get a first hand experience of the local traditions, customs and hospitality of Kerala.

Varkala attracts tourists not only for its beach resort but is also a famous pilgrim center. The beach is ideal holiday destination if you are on a look out for calmness and serenity. Bekal Beach is a small beach very near to Kovalam. It is famous for some of the very beautiful views of the sunset. The beach will provide you an insight into Kerala's coastal life. Bekal Beach is a fine example of amicable cultural ties among the Portuguese, Dutch and the local Kings in the pre-colonial era. The antiquity of the port can be made out from the ruins of some rock-cut temples.

Poovar Beach separates the Neyyar River from the sea. Essentially a fishing village, it is a beautiful and unexplored beach resort. You can reach the Poovar Beach by water taxis only.
